Pull up to 51 Mount Bethel Road on a Monday evening and Troy's Firehouse & Bar is closed. Drive to number 9 and Uproot is open until 10 p.m. On Sunday the two swap. Troy's serves from 11:45 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Uproot stays dark. Hours change, so confirm before you go. As of this fall, though, one short stretch of Warren has a full-service table available on every day of the week, and the reason is a pair of opposite closing days.
That rotation shapes how a night out along this road works. It also says something about who has been opening restaurants in Warren this year.
Three addresses within a few numbers of each other
Uproot sits at 9 Mount Bethel Road. Its kitchen turns out modern American plates alongside a woodstone-oven pizza menu, and there is a full bar. Its own site lists lunch from noon to 3:30 p.m. and dinner after that, with Sunday marked closed.
Remi's Ristorante is at 50 Mount Bethel Road, in the space the former Prezzo's occupied. It opened on Aug. 14, 2025, so it has just passed its first year. A Patch report recounts the story behind the name. Mirsad, known as Mario, arrived in the United States in 1993, and Remi's family had known his for generations. The two spent years working side by side in restaurants. After Remi died, Mario took charge of the restaurant and kept the name.
Troy's Firehouse & Bar is at 51 Mount Bethel Road, inside Arch Plaza and next to Turf N' Surf Burger Grill. Troy's opened this spring. Warren Township's Mayor Shaun Fine and Committeeman Daniel Croson attended its ribbon cutting. Turf N' Surf is next door for a casual burger, including grass-fed, turkey, and salmon versions.
How the week actually stacks up
The hours below come from each restaurant's own listings and local coverage. Remi's hours are not included because they were not confirmed, so check with them directly.
Day | Troy's Firehouse & Bar | Uproot |
|---|---|---|
Monday | Closed | Noon to 10 p.m., with a break from 3:30 to 4 |
Tuesday and Wednesday | 11:45 a.m. to 9 p.m. | Noon to 10 p.m., with a break from 3:30 to 4 |
Thursday | 11:45 a.m. to 9 p.m. | Noon to 11 p.m., with a break from 3:30 to 4 |
Friday and Saturday | 11:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. | Noon to 11 p.m., with a break from 3:30 to 4 |
Sunday | 11:45 a.m. to 9 p.m. | Closed |
Some plans follow directly from the table.
- Sunday dinner. Troy's is the sit-down option on this road, and it opens at 11:45 a.m., so a late lunch is possible too. Coverage of the restaurant recommends reserving through OpenTable, particularly for weekend dinner once the bar picks up.
- Monday dinner. Uproot is the one to call. It also serves lunch earlier in the day, which helps if a visiting relative's schedule runs early.
- Wednesday. Diners who review Uproot mention live music on Wednesday nights, so that is the evening to pick if a bar seat sounds better than a dining room.
- The gap between 3:30 and 4 p.m. Uproot changes over between lunch and dinner during that half hour, so a 3:45 arrival will not work.
Weekend reservations are the one constraint that applies at both places. Troy's weekend hours run an hour longer on Friday and Saturday, while Uproot stays open until 11 on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. A late table is easier to find at Uproot on a Thursday than at Troy's, since Troy's closes at 9 that night.
Three ovens, three different pizzas
One detail keeps this from being a single-cuisine road. Three kitchens in and around Warren bake pizza, and each makes a different kind.
Troy's bakes Neapolitan-style pies at about 900 degrees in a handcrafted brick oven, with a light, airy crust and a char on the edge. Its Vegetariana is a vegetarian option, and gluten-free crust is available on request. Uproot uses a woodstone oven for its 12-inch pizzas and says it makes its mozzarella in-house, uses local New Jersey tomatoes, and uses organic non-GMO flour. Toppings range from hot Italian sausage with hot honey to a mushroom pie with truffle-studded cheese.
The third is a slice shop. The Roman Gourmet opened at 125 Washington Valley Road on June 9, and the township joined the owners for a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, July 7, and encouraged people to stop by and grab a slice. The Roman Gourmet has been family-run since 1971, when it started in Maplewood. Its menu covers specialty pizza, pasta, soups, salads, sandwiches, and calzones, and there is a full catering line.
A group that cannot agree on dinner can settle it by picking a crust. Troy's is the choice for a table pie with a bar behind it, Uproot for a shared pie alongside a longer menu, and Roman Gourmet for a slice.
Who is behind these doors
Look across these restaurant openings and one pattern shows up. Each was started by an operator with an earlier address.
- Troy's comes from Trigo Restaurant Group, which already owns La Colina Mexican Cantina and Lukas Seafood & Grille in Warren. Troy's is the group's third Warren concept, and Explore New Jersey describes it as a step into a more refined, fire-driven lane than the other two.
- Moon Tea at 55 Mountain Boulevard is a new venture from the owners of Ryujin Sushi in Bridgewater. Its grand opening was Sunday, April 19, with free drinks for the first 500 customers. The shop took over the storefront that Great Clips used to occupy.
- The Roman Gourmet in Warren is its newest location, built on more than 50 years of operating history that began in Maplewood.
- Remi's Ristorante is the successor to a restaurant Mario helped run for years, in the former Prezzo's space.
That history gives the Mount Bethel Road cluster its range. A group that already runs a Mexican cantina and a seafood and steak restaurant can put a brick-oven Italian concept at 51 Mount Bethel Road without repeating either one. Remi's at number 50 offers its own Italian menu, and Uproot serves modern American food.
Before and after dinner
Moon Tea is the natural stop after dinner. It sits at 55 Mountain Boulevard and serves bubble tea. Diners who have visited mention the mango pomelo and the roasted oolong with brown sugar boba.
For a daytime version of the same plan, use the lunch hours. Uproot opens at noon, Troy's at 11:45 a.m., and Turf N' Surf sits beside Troy's if the group wants something faster. The Roman Gourmet on Washington Valley Road works for a slice on the way to somewhere else.
A few practical points for hosting out-of-town guests:
- Book Troy's through OpenTable for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday dinner.
- Reserve Uproot for Thursday through Saturday evenings, when it stays open until 11.
- Check with Remi's directly on hours, since they were not confirmed here.
- Keep Moon Tea and Roman Gourmet in reserve for a walk-in stop, since neither was described as requiring a reservation.
